Merlot’s Adventure
Merlot visits San Diego
|
Wow 5am, and already they’re waking me up to go potty.
Why so early?
Now what’s going on, they’re packing suitcases, and
also my toys, water bowl, and my treats. 6 am, and we are
heading out in the car, and I’m going with them! |

I love my mommy, but I always sit on my daddy’s lap when we go
out for a drive. I sit very still, most of the time, but I like to
know where I’m going. Sometimes my foot accidentally hits the
button at the side of my daddy’s seat, and his seat slides down,
real low. He’s not too happy when that happens, and I get a
scolding from him. Then I look up and give him my sad face look,
and he feels sorry that he scolded me, and I get one of my treats.
From their conversation, I hear we are going to a place called San
Diego, I think that’s in California. My daddy is going to attend
a convention, and he invited my mommy and me to go along.
Wow this is quite a ride, it took us eight hours to get to our
hotel. It’s a big building across the street from a very, very,
big pond. I heard them call it San Diego Harbor. A whole bunch of
big boats and sailing ships are on the water.
We check into the Hotel, and they walk me to this tiny room and
all of a sudden the doors close, and I feel this strange
vibration, and the doors open, and we are on a different floor.
Later I heard the little room was called an elevator.
We get out of this little room and enter another bigger room with
a big bed and a TV for me. I had my dinner and now I’m going for
a walk downstairs. First we enter that moving closet again, and I
am getting used to the vibrating floor. Wow everyone stops my
daddy to ask, what kind of dog is that? (What’s a dog?) They all
want to tickle my face, and then they wonder why my nose is all
scrunched up.
It’s getting dark outside and my mommy and daddy left me in this
room all by myself, of course I have the TV on, and they
left me the clicker.
Hooray, they just came back, now I have to decide where I am going
to sleep. There are two big beds in here, one for me and one for
them. No way will I sleep alone, I’m going to be on their bed.
Night, night!
